Interview with Dev Patnaik
Bio
Dev Patnaik is author of the top selling book Wired to Care and
an expert on business innovation.
As CEO of Jump Associates and an adjunct professor at
Stanford University, Dev Patnaik has pioneered new ways to extract
business growth from unlikely sources. Dev is a trusted advisor to
senior executives at many of America's most admired companies,
including GE, Target and Hewlett-Packard.
Dev has featured as a guest on the CNBC series 'The Business of
Innovation' with his articles appearing in Business Week, CNN, Fast
Company and Forbes. His book 'Wired to Care: How companies prosper
when they create widespread empathy' was named one of the best
books of the year by both Fast Company and Business Week.
At a recent address to the Institute of Design in Chicago Dev
offered his definition of design thinkers: "You're hybrid thinkers.
One part humanist, one part technologist, and one part
capitalist. And it's the wilful mash up of these disciplines that
makes you great, because you're also more than the sum of these
parts."
Dev lives with his wife and family in San Mateo, California. And
while he finds himself to be most often in other time zones, his
watch is always set to Pacific Time.
